It started off as a special tribute to a special little lady.
Miss K. was born very early, at 28 weeks, weighing slightly under 2lbs!
Her first months of life were an uphill battle as she was so tiny, but she chose to fight on.
This April, she celebrated her first birthday, and I wanted the event to be memorable.
After watching several Youtube videos and Pinterest, I was all in.
Mom decided on a unicorn theme, and it was fun from there. I created a unicorn head out of a cardboard letter O, to spell the word ONE. I got to play with glitter, paint and a hot glue gun. Oh joy!
Mom ordered the birthday outfit and cake, both unicorn themed, and we set a date.
After working on several designs for the session set, we decided that less is more....it was somewhat over the top at first because we wanted to include everything! (we were addicted to amazon shopping, lol)
In the end, we decided on a clean, pretty, magical look.
Miss K. came to her shoot looking quite magical, in a pastel rainbow tutu, unicorn tee shirt and of course, a unicorn crown and a beautiful unicorn cake made by Edibles by Erica and more.
The shoot was so much fun, trying to coax Miss K. into sitting still, eat her cake and look at the camera. Cake smashes can also be messy, so we did a splash session afterwards and
Miss K. got to clean up in a bubble bath.
After all of the creativity and fun, I've decided to add cake smash sessions to my portrait offerings.
Basic cake smashes are $350, and are simple color or boho themed, includes garland or banner, the number 1 or the letters O N E and a 6 inch smash cake.
Cake smash & splash sessions are $550 and have themes, props, 6 inch cake and followed by a splash session.
